This research is conducted from the point of view of the theory
of the core. In a series of 3 experiments, subjects have to come
to a conclusion about the direction of a peripheral or a central
element, presented alone or preceded by another central element
or peripheral element. The direction of the peripheral elements
is never affected by the mode of presentation, while that of the
central elements is unstable. These results raise questions about
the generating function of direction of the central elements of
social representations.
